The Long Trip to India - The Plan

So, rightly or wrongly, we decided that for the Summer holidays we would take a VERY LONG trip back to India. The reasons are many - it was the 25th anniversary of my father's death and I had promised myself to be in Chennai for the occasion; it was four years since my wife had seen her parents; it would be a good experience for the kids, to see how most of the world lived. Also, since India is shaping up to be one of the power economies it wont hurt the kids to be "India Savvy."

We will be gone from June 6 through August 15th. I work on the web and so, all I need is my usual laptop and a good internet connection. We will spend a week in Paris and then go on to Chennai. The plane stops in Paris anyway and so the thought was to have a "vacation" in Paris, and then go on to India, where I would continue to work. The thought is that through the wonders of the "internet", no one will care whether I am working from my home office in the US or from my father-in-law's house in Chennai
